Growing up, Fatima made her own clothes. Her mother gave her a sewing machine when she was eight years old, and all throughout high school, she'd make her own outfits whenever she wanted something new to wear to school. This love of sewing and her entrepreneurial spirit drove her to open her first boutique in 1986 when she was just 21. Over the course of her extensive career, Fatima has learned the most about the bridal and dress industry by being an active participant. She believes that you learn the best by doing it, not reading about it in old textbooks. Emigrating from Portugal when she was just three years old, Fatima's family has always had a supportive and entrepreneurial drive. Growing up around this drive pushed her to create her own business and lifestyle out of something she loves. When Famita isn't on the boutique's floor, you can find her cooking delicious Portuguese dishes for her family and friends.
As one of Fatima's children, Zach grew up in the bridal dress industry but hadn't always been at the boutique. Before getting his start at Alexandra's, he worked in the transportation and health care finance industry learning the ins and outs of business relations and development. During this time, the company he was working at was purchased by a larger corporation, and Fatima needed help opening up Alexandra's Too--so he figured it was the perfect time to leave his job and jump into the bridal business world. Now he helps Alexandra's Boutique's marketing efforts, customer relations, strategic planning, and business development.
