The Day Before Your Wedding
Here are some things you can do the day before your wedding. No matter what, try to get to bed as early as possible so you can get your beauty sleep!
Get a Manicure and Pedicure:
This is around when you'll want to get your nails done. Have no fear--they'll still be immaculate for your wedding. Spend the day getting pampered with a parent or best friend to make it extra special.
Set up the Venue:
If you are decorating yourself, try to do this as early as the venue allows. You'll want at least two hours to set everything up.
Give Your Marriage License to Your Officiant:
You may want to give your officiant your marriage license so they can hold it for you until it's time to take the next step. Most couples sign their marriage license right after the ceremony. While state laws vary, generally, you'll also need the signatures of your officiant and two witnesses--couples commonly ask the maid of honor and best man to be the witnesses. After you get the required signatures, your officiant will send your license to the county clerk's office, and then you'll wait for a marriage certificate to arrive.
Enjoy Your Rehearsal Dinner:
Your rehearsal dinner is a chance to enjoy spending time with your loved ones in a relaxed setting. Try to eat healthily during this occasion, so you feel great on your wedding day. Aim to fill up on non-starchy veggies and lean protein like chicken or fish and avoid processed foods. This will help you dodge indigestion and bloating, so you feel wonderful in your gown the next day. And be sure to stay hydrated!
Relax as Much as Possible:
Take care of your body and your mind before your wedding, which means drinking a lot of water and resting as much as you can. And remember not to sweat the small stuff.
Pack up Your Car:
Put suitcases or any other must-have wedding items in your car the day before. It'll save a lot of unnecessary hustle and bustle when your wedding day arrives.
Make Sure You Have Cash:
The last thing you want to think about on your wedding day is how to get to an ATM. So, it's a good idea to prepare and have some extra cash on hand just in case you need to tip vendors.
Prepare Your Dress:
Depending on the style and fabric of your gown, you may need to steam or iron certain elements after it leaves the boutique. Make sure to contact your boutique for specific instructions on how to prepare your dress for your wedding day.
